Georgiadis S.A. takes its environmental responsibility seriously, since the protection of the environment constitutes an important challenge and an essential concern of the “Green Page” corporate philosophy and the “Green Production” management of the production process of the company.
All procedures followed are of high standards of hygiene and low environmental footprint.
- We recommend (where possible) the use of recycled paper packaging rather than wood pulp.
- We replaced all basic printing inks with Low Odour and Low Migration so that the D-inking process that takes place during recycling is more environmentally friendly. Inks are free of heavy metals and especially for “food grade” products we use “Bio”.
- We use adhesives with starch, without odours.
- We use varnishes with EPPI technology for low migration of materials to the environment and especially to the end user of the packaging.
- We use MIS production monitoring software to closely monitor production and optimize printing scheduling.
- We use Processless photo technology, where there is zero consumption of chemicals
- We utilize Air Compressors to produce hot air.
In addition, our production units are housed in a bioclimatic-designed building to reduce structural heat loss and utilize thermal energy of the machinery to heat production sites, using heat exchangers and air ducts.

KODAK SONORA XP Free Plates
Our company has chosen to work with Kodak to integrate the KODAK SONORA XP Free Plates system into printing techniques, in order to reduce pollutants while saving energy.
With this system, we eliminate the processing and chemicals of plate manufacturing, providing the highest quality printing result, following essential regulations issued by the corresponding authorities, such as:
- EU FRAMEWORK REGULATION (EC) NO 1935/2004
- SWISS ORDINANCE ON MATERIALS AND ARTICLES IN CONTACT WITH FOOD (SR817.023.21)
- DUTCH COMMODITIES ACT ON FOOD CONTACT MATERIALS (KENMERK 328583-117560-VGP)
The SONORA XP free plate system utilizes Kodak’s ready-to-use technology, delivering significant benefits to the company.
- Reducing the management (maintenance and operation) costs of a processor.
- Optimizing process control by eliminating all variables.
- Quick and immediate response to the needs of commercial metal sheet printing.
- Strong printing performance in commercial hot and cold rolling presses, offset as well as short-term UV applications.
With the use of SONORA XP Free Plates system, fast imaging combined with extra time and consistency – as a result of the production of processed plates – increase productivity and performance, reducing the risk of any interruption.
